About the Event
Industry 4.0 has developed into an integrated ecosystem combining intelligent automation, robotics, advanced communications, cyber-physical systems, IIoT, digital twins, artificial intelligence, edge and cloud computing, and data-driven manufacturing. Its continued growth reflects the increasing demand for flexible, efficient, connected, and resilient production systems.
Recent advances in generative and agentic AI, autonomous robotics, machine vision, digital twins, advanced sensing, and industrial communications are accelerating the transition from experimental solutions to practical applications. Modern industrial systems are becoming increasingly capable of monitoring processes, predicting failures, optimising operations, and adapting production in real time.
At the same time, the transition towards Industry 5.0 places greater emphasis on human-centricity, sustainability, and resilience. Emerging Industry 6.0 concepts further explore highly autonomous, distributed, and adaptive industrial ecosystems based on "prompt-to-product" paradigme. These developments create new opportunities, but also raise important challenges related to cybersecurity, interoperability, safety, trustworthy AI, environmental impact, system integration, and human oversight.
Another critical issue is the growing skills gap. The successful implementation of advanced industrial technologies requires specialists with interdisciplinary expertise in automation, robotics, artificial intelligence, communications, cybersecurity, data processing, sensing, and sustainable manufacturing. Workforce reskilling and effective human-machine collaboration are therefore becoming essential elements of industrial transformation.
The annual IFSA Winter Conference on Automation, Robotics & Communications for Industry 4.0/5.0/6.0 (ARCI) - was established to address these challenges and to provide an international forum for the presentation and discussion of state-of-the-art research, emerging technologies, practical solutions, and real-world industrial applications.
ARCI’ 2027 is organised by the International Frequency Sensor Association (IFSA) - a professional non-profit organisation serving the international sensor, instrumentation, automation, and measurement communities since 1999.
Building on the success of previous editions, ARCI’ 2027 will bring together researchers, engineers, technology developers, industrial practitioners, system integrators, and end users from around the world. The conference will focus not only on future technological visions, but also on practical pathways for transforming current research and development results into reliable, secure, scalable and sustainable industrial solutions.
Particular attention will be given to intelligent automation, autonomous and collaborative robotics, AI-empowered industrial systems, digital twins, advanced sensing and communications, drones and unmanned systems, industrial cybersecurity, quantum-enabled technologies, green manufacturing, and resilient production environments.
ARCI’ 2027 will continue the tradition of the ARCI Conference Series by promoting interdisciplinary exchange between academic research and industrial practice. The conference will support open discussion of technological progress, implementation barriers, system reliability, safety, ethical responsibility, and the economic and environmental benefits of advanced industrial technologies.
The ARCI’ 2027 event is planned to be co-located with the 3rd International Conference on Drones and Unmanned Systems (DAUS’ 2027) - under the same conference umbrella, creating additional opportunities for cooperation in autonomous systems, intelligent control, robotics, sensing, navigation, and communications.
The conference programme will include plenary and invited talks, contributed oral and poster presentations, special sessions, industry tracks, panel discussions, tutorials, demonstrations, and an exhibition of commercial products and technologies. Social and cultural events will also provide opportunities for professional networking and international collaboration in a friendly atmosphere.
